Celebrating the Life of Vincent Tang

I learned this morning Vincent Tang died on the 28th August This is a great loss for Vincent’s family and friends, he was only 34 years old.

I’m writing as a remote member of the Tampa Devs community. This is also a loss for all the development communities in the region.

I first met Vincent in 2019, he took part in TADHack Orlando, held at Valencia College’s Collaborative Design Center. Here he is with his team that created CallNection, German Gamboa, Garrett Curtis, and Eric Good.

They won prizes from Flowroute, Telesign, and VoIP Innovations. Its an interesting take on the anonymous chat scenario. The scenario of Harold and Peaches getting to know each other was a comedic masterpiece.

One of his most impressive hacks came in 2021, with RescueR. His team was: Ebtesam Al Haque, Doug Moore, Amy Sliwinski, Muntaser Syed, Vincent Tang, Davindra Tulsi, and Chris Woodle.

This was the team’s reaction to the collapse of 12-story beachfront condominium in the Miami suburb of Surfside, An autonomous rescue bot with sonar mapping and telecommunications technology to quicken response time of trapped victims

They won prizes from Symbl.ai, Jambonz, Subspace, and Telnyx. The competition was intense, you can see all the other winners, it was a global competition.

You can also see more pictures of Vincent at TADHack, amongst his many friends.
